Praying Daily For Our Pastors & Leaders

Jesus promised in Matt 16:18 ‘I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it’. He has entrusted the Church into the hands of our Pastors and Church leaders. He is ever jealous of His Church and He has given pastors and leaders authoritative anointing to raise a Church that glorifies His name, and to be a strong army that does not break ranks. They are our commanders - our shepherds, pastors, teachers, friends, counsellors, mediators, mentors, advisors - with Jesus as chief. Indeed, they are a unique people; people of power and of praise. They move in love, speak in peace and rejoice in hope. Yet, as much has been given, much is required.

The signs of end-times cannot be ignored. There are wars and rumours of wars; further challenges and persecution await. And yet our pastors must remain strong, vigilant, unshakeable and unmoveable. Everything rises and falls on leadership. Zech 13:7 says ‘Strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered’. Just as rice is our staple food, so prayer for our pastors should also be part of our everyday prayer. 2 Thess 3:1 reminds us to pray for them. We need to pray for them and we will see God’s hand shaping our pastors.With the anointing that God has given them and our prayers backing them up, may they lead an “army of God” to push every spiritual frontier and see God’s kingdom come and His will be done in our land.
