D6: The Acceptable Year of the Lord

The Year of Jubilee is also equated with the Acceptable Year of the Lord. When Jesus began his ministry, he read the scriptures from Isaiah 61:1-2. There he declared that the Acceptable Year of the Lord had arrived. Then He went about healing the sick, making the lame walk, the blind to see, setting the oppressed free and offering God’s salvation and forgiveness to all who repented and believed. It was a period of great favour and grace. And that is what we desire for God to pour out throughout our nation during her Jubilee. May our nation experience His Jubilee and receive His salvation.
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor (Luke 4:18)
Prayer Suggestions: • Pray for God’s favour to be upon the land. • Pray for a mighty outpouring of His Holy Spirit. • Pray for the manifestation of His power to set men and women free.
